Lameze Allie

Festival Coordinator — Encounters South African International Documentary Festival

Lameze is a proudly brown-skinned woman, who believes that anything is possible through hard work, perseverance and a smile. Lameze has most recently worked as the Programme Coordinator for the Encounters Community Festival: Doc Activate Season 2023 programme. She has also partnered with the Department of Arts and Culture in training 20 youth from the Cape Town district in SmartPhone Documentary Filmmaking, focusing on Heritage as a theme. In addition, Lamzeze is the Programmer Officer for The Documentary Filmmakers Association of South Africa at DocLove, a monthly free Documentary Film Screening series, which used the power of film to spark conversation and engage discussions. Lamaze has also worked as a Documentary Feature Programmer for the Durban International Film Festival, Judge at the South African Film and Television Awards 2022 – Documentary Juror, Bangkok International Film Festival 2022 and as a Documentary Film Programmer. She served on the NFVF PESP 3 Advisory Panel.
