Liani Maasdorp is a senior lecturer in the Centre for Film & Media Studies at the University of Cape Town. She convenes the MA: Documentary Arts programme and the Impact Facilitator online short course. She was one of the producers of Strike a Rock, which opened the Encounters Documentary Film Festival in 2017 and screened at Sheffield DocFest, IDFA and DIFF. She is one of the regional leads of Climate Story Labs Africa. Her current research is focussed on contemporary South African documentary film and impact producing.
