ZuBeDa Portia Cele is South African co-producer of the acclaimed documentary Truck Mama, which gained international recognition when the project won Most Promising Documentary Project and the Best Pitch Award at Durban FilmMart, followed by Most Outstanding Documentary Project at IDFA. The film premiered in Europe at IDFA in 2025 to full cinemas, screened at the Red Sea International Film Festival, and in Kenya at Kitale Film Week, and continues its 2026 festival run including Hot Docs and Encounters.

Her latest short, Idris, Josi and Rose, marks her second work as writer-director—a visceral story of survival and humanity. She has over 15 years’ experience in casting, working as both Casting Director and Talent Specialist.
